Summer is a great time to ditch the gym membership and take advantage of all the amazing FREE Fitness Opportunities in the Boston area!
There are so many free fitness classes and programs in Boston and Beyond and here’s a list of them all:
Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series: Free bootcamp, yoga, zumba, salsa dancing and much more at local Boston parks from June 4, 2018 to September 29, 2018. For the full schedule, please head here.
Seaport Sweat: Free outdoor workout series with 9 classes a week for 20 weeks on weekdays as well as a new weekend series with 15 classes on Saturday mornings! This free series kicks off Tuesday, May 29, 2018 to October 12, 2018 on the Seaport Common at 85 Northern Avenue. Registration is mandatory.
FIT on the Garden: Free fitness every Wednesday from 6-7pm from June 6, 2018 to August 29, 2018 on South Garden at the Prudential Center!
Summer Yoga at Frog Pond: Free yoga classes on the lawn adjacent to the Frog Pond Carousel at 6:00pm every Thursday night this summer starting June 7, 2018.
Yoga in the Park: Free yoga classes at Assembly Row in Somerville from May to September on Saturdays at 9am at Baxter Riverfront Park. Registration is required, and bring your own mat. Rain location: 521 Assembly Row, next to David’s Tea.
MSL Pilates Summer Bootcamp: Free MSL Pilates Bootcamp is once a month on Monday nights from 6:30-7:15PM at Rose Kennedy Greenway in the North End starting June 18, 2018. Sign up required.
Free Salsa in the Park: Enjoy free salsa dancing this summer at the Blackstone Community Center (50 West Brookline Street) on Mondays at 6PM starting June 11, 2018.
Summertime at the Street: The Street Summertime Sweat Series is offered Mondays at 5:30pm and Thursdays at 9:30am on the Green at The Street Chestnut Hill.
Norman B. Leventhal Park: Free yoga, bootcamp, pilates barre, and more offered Mondays-Fridays at Post Office Square starting June 25, 2018. For the full schedule, please click here.
Harbor Fitness: Free outdoor fitness from 6-7PM on Waterfront Plaza starting July 9, 2018 to August 27, 2018.
Healthy Fit and Fun from the Esplanade Association: The Esplanade Association partners with organizations across the city to bring free fitness and fun from July 10, 2018 to September 6, 2018. Registration is required. Here’s the schedule:
- Free Zumba: Tuesdays at 6pm at the Hatch Shell.
- Sunset Yoga: Wednesdays at 6pm at the Fielder Field (must bring a mat)
- Run Club: Wednesdays at 6:30pm at 671 Boylston Street (Marathon Sports).
- Bootcamp: Thursdays at 6pm at Fielder Field.
Yoga in the Park: Free all-levels yoga on Sunday mornings from 8-9AM in the Minot Rose Garden at Browne & St. Paul Streets in Brookline from July 1, 2018 to August 26, 2018.
Marathon Sports Run Group: Marathon Sports sponsors a run group every Wednesday night at 6:30pm which meets at their Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Wellesley store locations as well as other days/times for their other store locations.
lululemon athletica Run Club: Free run club every Monday at 6pm in store.
November Project: Work out with a positive support group every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for free workouts through the November Project.
Keep in mind that the majority of classes, if not all, are outside and some may cancel due to rain so make sure to do your own due-diligence before heading out to a free class.
You may also need to register for some classes before heading out or bring a yoga mat (affiliate link) with you. Just make sure to head to the event’s website before heading to make sure you have everything covered.
