Dallas and Fort Worth are awesome places to live, work, and visit but they’re even better at night! There are tons of things to do and places to go- but most of them demand cover fees or high ticket prices. Don’t let that stop you from enjoying the nightlife.

Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge

Go people watching at Dallas’ favorite auto-free bridge! You’ll find vendors selling ice cream, kids climbing play structure, people walking their four-legged friends, dance-offs, and more.

Catch a Comedy Show

Dallas has dozens of comedy shows and you can often find a free set during the week! If you go on a weekend, you’ll probably have to pay a cover fee but it’s usually cheap- right about $10 per person! The Backdoor Comedy Club regularly hosts some great shows, and you can get tickets at a discount through Goldstar.

Wild Detectives

This is a bar like you’ve never seen before- a book store with readings, a bar with tastings. They even have live music, poetry readings, open mic nights, and more. It’s in the Bishop Arts District and there’s no cover. If you’re looking for something different to do in DFW at night, this is it!

Owl Prowl Night Hike

The local state parks and natural areas offer a ton of free and cheap programming. Head to the Trinity River Audubon Center for hiking, owl watching, and s’mores! Admission ranges from $10- $20 and tickets sell out quickly. Night hikes are scheduled once a month.

Night at the Museum

Several of the Dallas-Fort Worth area museums have special late-night events. The Dallas Museum of Art is open late on the third Friday of each month and admission is just $10. The Perot Museum offers awesome 21+ programming for $20 per person on select nights. The Samurai Collection and the Kimbell Museum in Fort Worth also offer late-night events. All museums give special pricing to members so it’s even cheaper!

GeO-Deck Observation Area

Reunion Tower has the absolute best view of Dallas and it’s even better at night! Admission to the observation deck begins at $8 or you can buy a day-and-night ticket to visit twice in one day for $17. Check out our guide to the best DFW observation decks for more ideas.

Galleria Ice Rink

The ice rink at the Galleria Dallas is open all year long. Admission is $9.50 for people aged 10- 25, plus the cost of skate rental. It’s a great date idea- falling on your bum!

Dallas Trolley Tour

One of the best ways to see Dallas is with a hop-on, hop-off trolley tour! Tickets are $10 and you can board an unlimited number of times. Plus, you ride the next day for free!

Fort Worth Water Gardens

This local, public park is like a work of art. Walk across the sidewalks cutting through pools of cascading water. It’s a great spot for photo ops, meditation, or just talking.

Addison After Dark

This annual summer concert series repeats every May through November. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and plenty of water. The concert is held at Addison Circle Park and there is no cover fee.

Coyote Drive-In

Not just a drive-in theater, this is one movie experience you’ll never forget. They open at 5:30 pm, rain or shine. There is also a canteen which sometimes has live music. Admission is $8 for adults. It’s one of our favorite things to do in DFW at night!
