Tanabata Festival at Kimbell Art Museum

Example of Tanabata decorations

Come by the Kimbell Art Museum this Saturday, July 28 from 1-4 p.m. for their free Tanabata Festival. Discover the ancient Japanese festival tradition where children record their wishes on beautiful paper decorations during the seventh-month celebration of Tanabata. Along with children’s films and enchanting folktales, there will also be activities highlighting artworks in the Kimbell’s Asian art collection.

No reservations are necessary to attend the festival. Admission to the museum’s special exhibits is also free during this event.

The Kimbell Art Museum is at 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd.
