On Saturday, July 14, North East Mall in Hurst will hold its Kidgits Safe Summer event from 1-4 p.m. in the mall’s Center Court. Kids can learn summer safety tips from the Hurst Police and Fire Departments, plus visit with real police officers and firefighters. See and take a tour of several safety vehicles including a police car, police motorcycle and other first responder vehicles. Everyone’s favorite crime-fighter, McGruff the Crime Dog, will also be on hand for visits and photos along with Search One’s K9 rescue dogs. There will be hands-on craft activities to keep kids engaged, too, including a visor craft and bug-catcher jar, plus lots of giveaways for families to take home, such as coloring sheets and stickers.
