Lewisville Western Days FestivalDrive over to Lewisville this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 28-29) for the Lewisville Western Days Festival. Admission to this fun, family-oriented festival is free; simply print your tickets right here. (If you don’t have a ticket when you get to the gate, admission is $20. Kids under the age of 6 are free and don’t need a ticket.) The festival runs from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. There’s plenty going on both days of the festival, including live music, cooking demonstrations, kids’ activities, and even a “World Tamale-Eating Championship.” A few other highlights include:

 

  • A car show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Gunfight shows on Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Kids’ corral full of inflatables, obstacle course, rock climbing activities and more ($12 per child)
  • Stickhorse rodeo on Saturday and 2 and 4 p.m.
  • Pie contest on Saturday (register 10 a.m.)
