About The Frontiers of Flight Museum
The museum was founded in 1988 inside a terminal at the Dallas Love Field airport but eventually moved into a 100,000-square-foot standalone space. The Frontiers of Flight Museum features a wide-ranging collection of aviation artifacts and aircraft which tell the story of America’s aviation and space exploration.
Some of the museum’s highlights include the original Apollo 7 Command Module, a World War I-era biplane, artifacts from the Hindenburg airship, and hundreds of World War II aircraft models. In addition, the museum displays dozens of actual aircraft from around the world like an F-16B Fighting Falcon, a supersonic F-105D Thunderchief, and the Vought V-173 “Flying Pancake,” an odd saucer-shaped experimental plane the Navy tested during World War II.
