Free Kids' Movies at the ModernOn Tuesday, Aug. 11, Wednesday, Aug. 12, and Thursday, Aug. 13, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will present Best of the Fest: Kid Flix Mix, a showing of selected films from the New York International Children’s Film Festival. This is your chance to see some limited-release films that you may never otherwise get the chance to watch! This is a FREE event, but seating is limited to the first 250 guests.

The schedule of events is as follows:

August 11:
10:30 a.m. – Kid Flix Mix, 30 minutes long, for ages 3-7
1 p.m. – Best of the Fest: Party Mix, 70 minutes long, for ages 8-12

August 12:
10:30 a.m. – Kid Flix Mix Part 2, 30 minutes long,  for ages 3-7
1 p.m. – ¡VIVA NYICFF! – 72 minutes long, for ages 8-12. Chosen from over five years of New York International Children’s Film Festival short film programs, ¡VIVA NYICFF! presents a diverse selection of award winners and audience favorites. All films in this program are from or feature stories about Spain and Latin America.

August 13:
1 p.m. – A Cat in Paris (Une Vie de Chat) – 70 minutes long, rated PG. The Academy Award-nominated A Cat in Paris from directors Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol is a beautifully hand-drawn caper set in the shadow-drenched alleyways of Paris. Rife with film references (from Reservoir Dogs to Goodfellas to The Night of the Hunter), A Cat in Paris is a warm and richly humorous love letter to classic noir and American gangster films, with a jazz soundtrack featuring Billie Holiday.

When you’re done watching the films, you can tour the Modern’s galleries for free.
