PhotobucketThis one is worth driving to Dallas for! On Saturday, Feb. 9, the Dallas Opera will present two free performances of “Bon Appetit!”, an English-language comedic opera. This witty, warm-hearted opera premiered in 1989 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. So combine your passion for food and art and be part of the “studio- audience” for this lively taping, and watch as Susan Nicely brings American icon Julia Child to life through the joy and pitfalls of baking a chocolate cake.

Performances of this opera are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. They are free, but you must RSVP to get in. The performances will be held at the Dallas Farmer’s Market Demonstration Kitchen. Find directions to the Farmer’s Market here.
