New Rules You Should Know

Before we talk about ways to save on your trip to the Dallas Zoo, there are some new rules in place since the zoo reopened during the coronavirus pandemic.

First, tickets must be reserved online, even if you’re a member. You’ll be asked to select a time for your visit.

When you’re at the Dallas Zoo, you’ll be asked to practice safe social distancing, and you’ll be required to follow one-way paths throughout the zoo to minimize crowding.

Face coverings are required for all visitors age 2 and older who wish to use the restrooms or other indoor areas. While face coverings aren’t required for outdoor areas, they are encouraged.

The zoo also asks that you limit your group size to 10 people or fewer. Their website notes “Visiting in smaller groups or splitting up a larger group as you walk around will help everyone enjoy the Zoo while still being able to follow social distancing guidelines.

ABOUT THE DALLAS ZOO

The Dallas Zoo started in 1888 with just two deer and two mountain lions in City Park. Then, it moved to Fair Park, and finally to Marsalis Park in 1912, where it is still located today.

This is the oldest and largest preserve in Texas, serving more than a century as a refuge for animals. The zoo has gone through many upgrades to better serve as a sanctuary for its wildlife.

The Dallas Zoo hosts a ton of exhibits and seasonal experiences to cater to all types of visitors. The exhibits include Cheetah Encounter, Lemur Lookout, Wilds of Africa Adventure Safari, Elephants of Savannah and many more.

Their seasonal experiences include the Dinos at the Dallas Zoo, Safari Nights Concert Series, Brew at the Zoo and more.
