While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has canceled the iconic St Patrick’s Day parade this year, there’s still plenty of events to celebrate the day in Boston. Many establishments that can open are hosting and promoting St. Patrick’s Day events. #StPatricksDay2021

St Patrick’s Day 2021 in Boston – Food and Drink Events for Adults

Annual “Luck of the Irish” Bar Crawl (St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, Faneuil Hall) – There’s more than one bar crawl happening this year, but the Luck of the Irish is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. This event takes place all across Faneuil Hall in coordination with over ten venues.

“Drink Me, I’m Irish!” Online Cocktail Class (Mar. 17, 7:00 PM, Virtual) – Hosted by the Needham History Center & Museum, this class is a crash course on mixology and Irish whiskey. If you’ve ever wanted to learn what makes Irish drinks unique, this is for you.

Harpoon Brewery’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration (Until Mar. 17, The Beer Hall) – While their event this year won’t be as boisterous as previous St. Patrick’s Day parties, Harpoon is still providing drinks and food (with a rotating menu). You can also choose to take home a collection of goodies if you don’t want to stay for a meal. 

City Tap House – (Mar. 17) – With a customized drink menu featuring your favorite alcoholic beverages dyed green, City Tap House is going all out on St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The pub serves traditional Irish dishes such as corned beef and cabbage. 

City Works Brewery (through Mar. 17) – A Watertown landmark, City Works is known for its wide-spanning drink menu. So it’s only right that one of the best breweries in the Boston area matches your pint of Guinness with a Rueben sandwich and shepherd’s pie. 

 

St. Patty’s Day Events for Toddlers, Teens, and Families

St Patrick’s Day Craft (Mar. 17, 12:00 – 1:00 PM, The Revere Public Library) – Get together with other families for some hands-on fun with arts and crafts. Kids will learn how to make their own rainbow and pot of gold in a friendly and straightforward way.

St Patrick’s Day Takeout Dinner (Mr. 17, 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Chef’s Kitchen on Main) – Boston St. Patrick’s Day sees many restaurants offer St. Patrick’s Day specials. But if you’re looking for an authentic Irish dinner (and don’t want to dine in), Chef’s Kitchen on Main can make that happen. 

St Patrick’s Day Cooking (Mar. 17, 4:00 – 5:30 PM, Mix It Up Kitchen – Kids 11 years or older can learn how to make St. Patrick’s Day food in this special class. They’ll learn how to correctly use all the tools and utensils they need while making traditional Irish stew.

St Patrick’s Day Hike at Willow Brook Farm Preserve (Mar. 17, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Willow Brook Farm) – If you want to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air, this guided hike gives you the chance to enjoy three miles of nature. Hikers will learn about the farm’s history and its natural features as well.

While the Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade will have to wait, there’s still plenty of ways you and your family can enjoy St. Patrick’s Day this year. Whatever you choose to do, remember to do it safely. And don’t forget to enjoy these St. Patrick’s Day events!
