On April 18, 1775, Paul Revere set up his famous midnight ride to Concord where he warned Patriots Samuel Adams and John Hancock against marching British troops. Because of this, he is recognized as one of the heroes of the American Revolutionary War and other countless selfless actions during his time.
To honor his memory, the Paul Revere House is preserved and is home to a museum of artifacts and history today. Read on to know more about this historic place plus some of the best ways to get Paul Revere House discount tickets and coupons.
ABOUT THE PAUL REVERE HOUSE
Paul Revere’s house was built in 1680 and it still stands today even after his legendary heroism on the night of April 18, 1775. His black wooden house was occupied by a lot of people before becoming what it is today.
In 1902, Paul Revere’s great-grandson John P. Reynolds Jr. purchased the building to ensure that it will be preserved and then the Paul Revere Memorial Association was formed to take care of the building. The house opened its doors to the public in April 1908.
Aside from the main attraction, which is the Paul Revere House, there are other houses at the compound which are part of the history as well and are definitely worth checking out.
The Pierce/Hichborn House built around 1711 is one of the earliest remaining brick structures in Boston. The Lathrop Place can also be visited which was originally used as a boarding house.
The Paul Revere House offers field trips, outreach programs and tours for all kinds of groups.
