Zoos are a great place not just for kids but for the whole family as well. They are a place of education, entertainment and a place for bonding.
The Franklin Park Zoo in Boston is the complete package for animal lovers as they have tons of attractions, encounters and endless fun. It’s one of our favorite things to do in Boston on the weekend (or any time really). If you plan to visit the zoo soon, read on to find out all about it as well as some ways where you can save on admissions with Franklin Park Zoo coupons and discount tickets.
ABOUT THE FRANKLIN PARK ZOO
The Franklin Park Zoo opened its doors to the public way back in October 4, 1912. More than a century later, the zoo grew not just in size but in the number of animals they take care of too. The zoo occupies a space of 72 acres which is currently operated by Zoo New England.
The Franklin Park Zoo houses over 150 animals of different kinds and species. Some of the animals you can find include the African Pygmy, Barn Owl, Emu, Hippopotamus, White Naped Crane, Dwarf Crocodile, and Giraffes. Their top attractions are the Giraffe encounters and Aussie Aviary where you can feed the animals under the supervision of the staff.
There’s also a carousel, a playground, and a train where you can appreciate the beauty of the zoo in a true safari fashion.
Aside from the attractions, the zoo also has a shopping center for all things animals as well as some food stands.
