Boston residents and visitors love spending time with their pups. That’s why it’s so common to find dog-friendly bars in Boston. Everyone loves taking their pups for a walk and then heading somewhere for the great drinks or food the city has to offer.
Dog-Friendly Bars in Boston Proper
The Yard – if you’re near Beacon Hill you can find another one of the many dog-friendly restaurants in Boston. Their garden makes you feel like you’ve left the hustle and bustle of the city for a short while.
Brendan Behan Pub – one of the few places in or around Boston you can bring your dog inside. Doesn’t server their own food, but offers a great selection of craft beers.
Kinsale – this Downtown-located restaurant and bar wouldn’t seem like an obvious entry, but the outdoor patio is a great place to take your pup and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city.
Bar Boulud – the food alone should be enough to get you to Bar Boulud. The option to have your pups join you on the bistro’s terrace is just an added bonus. It’s one of the great dog-friendly restaurants in Boston.
Trillium Garden on the Greenway – Trillium is one of the fastest growing breweries in the country. Once you taste their beer you won’t be wondering why they’re so popular. Try some out in their seasonal beer garden and bring your pup too!
Outside of Boston Proper
Taberna de Haro – just outside Boston proper is Taberna de Haro in Brookline. You can enjoy tapas, an amazing wine list and the company of your favorite dog on their outdoor patio.
Dorchester Brewing Company – not only does Dorchester Brewing offer beers from multiple brewers, but they also let you hang out with your dog while sampling beers and even host monthly puppy happy hours.
Night Shift Brewing Co – out in Everett, Night Shift is one of the most popular breweries in the area and also have plenty of outdoor space to hang out with your dog and friends.
Short Path Distillery – also in Everett, the Short Path patio is a great place take your pup and enjoy some craft spirits and cocktails. It’s open all year long, so this is a great option regardless of the current New England weather.
Lord Hobo Brewing – based in Woburn, the beer here is incredible and as they’ve expanded it’s gotten even better. With the addition of a kitchen, the hours to bring dogs has now been reduced. But, they still host “Yappy Hours” regularly. Check out their calendar for the schedule.
Cambridge and Somerville
The Back Yard at Daddy Jones Bar – this might not sound like a great spot for Greek food, but it’s one of the best. Plus, you can enjoy the food while spending time with your dog on their patio.
Cambridge Brewing Company – the brewery is hosted in a huge formerly abandoned mill and offers a great lineup of beers. Their outdoor patio is where you’ll want to grab some beer and hang out with your pup.
Area Four – the popular pizzeria allows dogs on their grassy area near the patio at their original Cambridge location. It’s a great spot to try out some of the best pizza in the area. And, you don’t have to leave your pups at home.
The Friendly Toast – breakfast all day and night is the selling point of the Friendly Toast. There’s locations in Cambridge and Back Bay and both welcome dogs.
