fort worth parking holidays

Heading into Fort Worth and parking at a meter? Parking in the city can be confusing — the signage isn’t always clear and it can be difficult to figure out when you have to pay the meters and when they’re free.

To help you out, we’ve put together a guide to Fort Worth’s free parking times and parking holidays.

The city has meters located all throughout the central business district, medical district, and University Street as well as in the Cultural District, and while you normally have to pay to park at those spots, there are plenty of times and days when you can get free meter parking.

Regular Free Meter Parking Times

The parking meters in the central business district, medical district, and University Street require payment every weekday from 8 am to 6 pm. However, you can park free at the meters after 6 pm Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

The meters in the Central District on Will Rogers West are a little different. They are operation 7 days a a week from 6 am to 10 pm, so keep that in mind.

Please note that if a parking meter has a red bag on it, you can’t park there no matter what time or day it is.
