So, from time to time you see me posting about special coupons from Del Taco on here. But I haven’t really said much about how the food tastes. Luckily, my kids and I were able to visit Del Taco last week, and I wanted to share a little about our experience.
We were in the area, so we pulled into the McKinney location a little after 1 p.m., fresh off some clothes shopping and ready to eat. I had my Facebook coupon for a free Carnitas Taco al Carbon (with a drink purchase), so I promptly whipped that out and gave it to the cashier. I was extra-hungry, so I also decided to get some Macho Nachos to go with it. My kids, who are strangely picky, got the cheeseburger kids meals, since they don’t like Mexican food. (Whose kids are these?!? Regardless, I’m glad we all got to order what we wanted.)
My youngest enjoyed the toy that came with his meal – some kind of secret-decoder gizmo that you play with online:
The kids seemed to like the cheeseburgers, which also came with crinkle-cut fries:
And check out the nachos that I got. They were enormous, with plenty of beef and refried beans:
We did have a small hiccup in our order. For some reason, the cashier mistakenly rang up two Carnitas tacos instead of one. I’m not sure if she misunderstood the coupon or what, but it was no big deal – I took the second one home and ate it for lunch the next day. The Carnitas taco was great, by the way – plenty of tender, seasoned pork and fresh cilantro (nice touch) on a corn tortilla. Here is my not-very-attractive pic of it:
As we were finishing up, I heard the cashier explain to a customer waiting on food that they had run out of the Carnitas meat. I’m sure the tastiness and the price point ($1.59 for a single carnitas taco) were the two main reasons! What are you waiting for? Find your local Del Taco here.
