Got a talent for boat-building? Just like to see them? On Saturday, April 26, River Legacy in Arlington will sponsor its annual Cardboard Boat Regatta at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. You can build your boat beforehand, or participate in the Build-On-Site competition on the event day. See all the details here. Registration to participate in the Regatta ranges from $50 to $90, and there are discounts for schools and churches. For $5, kids can participate in the Mini-Boat Regatta.
If you’re not into building, you can still come and enjoy the fun. General admission to the Regatta is $8 per person, or $6 if you stop by River Legacy before April 25 and pick up your tickets. Kids will enjoy the children’s area, which includes Hook’s Lagoon, face painting, bubble play and a hula-hooping contest.
Six Flags will also open some of their water attractions at the Regatta. For $10, you can purchase a ride pass that includes admission to the Tornado ride, Tsunami Surge & Typhoon Twister (all subject to availability on event day). Sky Coaster Swing Rides cost $10 per person (2-person minimum ride).
