photo britartisanmarket_zps08a1a942.pngOn Saturday, Nov. 1, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas will host its monthly First Saturday program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme for this month’s event is “Festive by Nature.” BRIT will host a number of talented local and international artisans selling a variety of hand-crafted items including jewelry, wood housewares, hand embroidered textiles from Honduras and Mexico, photographic art, ceramics, hand dyed accessories, all natural bath products and lovely hand-made children’s items.  In addition, they will have a number of local, artisanal food producers with festive, gift-worthy food items on hand. This is a great opportunity to start your holiday shopping! See a full list of vendors here.

There will also be plenty of other family-friendly activities at First Saturday, including Bella’s Story Time for preschoolers, plant preservation experts on hand to answer questions, and “Plant Walks and Talks” staffed by BRIT botanical experts. Visitors may also explore BRIT’s pocket prairie, geology wall, braided gardens, and wetland area.

BRIT is at 1700 University Dr. in Fort Worth.
